Hot off the pixel press, a new Reprisal desktop promo video.
There’s no easy way to say this, but we need your help! Reprisal has been nominated for a Golden Joy Stick 2012 award in the best browser / flash based game category. The winners are based on votes which is where we need the word spread and votes cast, every vote counts :D

It’s rubbing shoulders with some big amazing names in this category, Triple Town, Kingdom Rush and Draw Something to name a few, so to be short listed is amazing in itself.
Thank you all, and please do spread the word.
And another Friday is here. We dropped a small updated to fix a couple of bugs which can now be updated from Desura. This will update Reprisal to 1.3.0 and stops hero’s from blowing up as soon as they attack settlements and puts back tilt-shift effect for Artistic mode!

In other news we are busy at work on our next project entitled Battle Keep. It’s early days at the moment but it’s already shaping up nicely with more pixel goodness.
When asked to describe Battle Keep we reply with “It’s going to be a realtime, multiplayer Bomber Man meets Gears of War meets 16bit Gauntlet boom-em-up.” Here’s some screens to keep you going. You can follow the full development on it’s dedicated blog over at Battle Keep HQ.

Web Reprisal press mentions so far
Here’s a short round up from some of the things being said about Reprisal since it’s launch so far!
Edge Magazine:
“Its chunky, and fashionable, pixel visuals are augmented with an attractive, tilt-shifted depth of field effect that gives the game a unique look, while the cheerful tutorial leads you through the game’s territory-conquering gameplay with easy charm.”
TIG Source
“I highly encourage this game not only for its old-school game play in homage to the god games of yore, but also for the fantastic audio-visual presentation …”
Kotaku
“This Free Game Takes Populous And Gives It a Sworcery Makeover”
Indie Game Magazine
“…the charming simplicity of Reprisal’s mechanics still never fail to put a smile on my face even when it all inevitably backfires”
Rock Paper Shotgun
“Reprisal has officially launched, and it hits many of the beats recent attempts on the god game throne like From Dust couldn’t quite wrap their giant disembodied hands around. ”
Indie Games
“In short, it’s all kinds of awesome and you should be playing it today. Monday blues? Forget about them. Go drown rival tribes instead. It’d make it all better. ”
The Verge
“It preserves all the terraforming and village-conquering strategy action of the original, but the tilt-shifted pixel art style is gorgeous and right up to date “
Digital Tools
”When graphic-designers meet game-design – this can be a very fruitful combination. The game Reprisal is a good evidence. Artwork and in game-graphic of Reprisal is one of the most clean and charming pixelartwork, that came within the last years – playing in the same league as Sword and Sworcery or Fez.”
